Without realizing it, I have been tumbling towards Industrial Design and textiles my whole life. As a tactile child, I loved soft sweaters and knitting scarves; I learned to sew from my mother at 10, started quilting and playing with fabric structure in high school. These were all labeled as passions/hobbies in my mind, which led to me often putting them to the wayside in deference to academic work.
As I’ve transitioned out of college and through jobs, I’ve felt a creative void that I began to fill by rediscovering my passions. Through that process and some soul-searching, I have arrived at my present state: taking both textile and industrial design classes to form my own blend of creative endeavors.
I would like to continue to straddle both arenas in my future work and hope that will shine through as I build my portfolio.
